Lumpkin County, GA: Flock in public comment, sheriff commits to 30-day audits (Sep 15)
At the September 15, 2026 regular meeting of the Lumpkin County Board of Commissioners, a resident asked during public comment that Flock cameras be removed, citing centralized access and auditing. The sheriff responded on the record: a Flock audit every 30 days, a published log of the justification used for each search, dispatch as a second-person check on deputy searches, and a civilian board to oversee the audits. No Flock contract was voted on. These minutes are published inside the October 6, 2026 work session packet, which is why the document link points there. Correction, October 6, 2026: an earlier version of this entry dated the discussion to October 6 and attached an unrelated $19,104.00 line item from the same packet. Neither was correct.
