this is so much is because of the recent changes to stormwater management. There are

Planning Director Hughes-Neel presented item to council as a complete section for
political signage. These are all the rules that we currently have that applies to political
signage. Director Hughes-Neel wanted to make sure that council was good with this
language before she put it in the Land Development Code. We can use the language
now to tell people what we require. She asked council to read it over and let her know
if there was anything in there that was too strict or not strict enough. Councilwoman
Brannon asked if they could look at it and bring it back at the next meeting. Director
Hughes-Neel stated that she would bring it back at another meeting to give council time
to really look it over.

on state highways. Walton County Board of Commissioners has said no flock cameras
on county highways. She is asking that we say no flock cameras on city streets.

REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, September 8, 2026
Councilwoman Brannon stated that she was on 331 Business this morning and waited
through 2 light cycles because there is no dedicated left turn light at that intersection.
She would like us to contact FOOT to find out about getting a dedicated left turn light
and fix the intersection to hopefully get traffic moving better. Planning Director Hughes
Neel stated that she had met with Walton County Public Works and the County
Engineering Department and had several conversations with FOOT about this
intersection. There are some things that would have to happen to have a dedict _

was 1.5 million extra in revenue. She believes that $200,000 in the lighting plan is not
enough. Councilwoman Brannon would like to look into a budget amendment when we

d. Councilman Farris
e. Councilwoman Hurst
1. City Hall Porch/Under Hang Lighting
Councilwoman Hurst stated that the existing lights on City Hall's porches and under
hangs are on photocells and are not dimmable. We would have to change all the
lighting to do anything about that. We can opt not to do anything and leave it as is or
we can choose to turn the breaker off just for the lights that are underneath the awning
and only on nights that we don't have meetings or special events. Staff needed all of
councils guidance and approval to turn those off. Council agreed to have them turned
off on an event-by-event basis. Councilwoman Hurst asked on the nights there wasn't a
special event or holiday does everyone have an opinion on what color the lights on City
Hall should be. We could do red, white, and blue and the time or we could do white.
Council agreed on white.
