Flock & ALPR Cameras in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Volunteers have reported 29 automated license plate readers in and around Kenosha — cameras that log every passing plate with a time and location.

On the record · Contract Canceled

Kenosha is on the record here. Kenosha Police Chief Patrick Patton said the department is ending its Flock Safety contract one year early and moving to Axon Outpost license-plate cameras under a broader roughly $14.6 million Axon technology contract. FOX6 reported Patton cited data-sharing, data-security, and undisclosed speed/movement tracking concerns. Kenosha PD said it found no local officer misuse of Flock. Axon sharing is planned for Wisconsin agencies and possibly neighboring Lake County, Illinois, not Flock's nationwide network.

What’s watching Kenosha

These aren’t red-light cameras. Automated license plate readers like Flock Safety’s photograph every plate that passes, log the time and place, and store it in a searchable database that’s often shared far beyond Kenosha — here’s where that data goes. Counts cover cameras reported closest to Kenosha (within ~20 km), so nearby towns share the same corridors. Spot one that’s missing? Report it on DeFlock.
