FYI - Brentwood Food Pantry (INFORMATIONAL ITEM)
Mr. President, as a final FYI - I’m pleased to share how our
community came together in an extraordinary way to support the
Brentwood Food Pantry this past month. With the holidays
approaching—and more than double the number of families
registering for assistance—the need was greater than ever. Through
strong collaboration and effective outreach, our call to action
resulted in nearly $5,000 in monetary donations and enough food to
serve over 160 families this past Saturday.
A special thank-you goes to Blythe Books, the Sprout Center for
Emotional Growth and Development, and the Brentwood Library for
serving as donation drop-off sites. I’d also like to recognize fellow
Councilman Steve Thomas and Council President Mike Foyle for their
hands-on support this past week, from traveling to the distribution
center to load and unload donations, to assisting with Saturday’s
distribution. Their commitment reflects the very best of public
service.
Above all, thank you to every resident, volunteer, and partner who
stepped up to support neighbors who could use a little extra help this
season. This work doesn’t stop here. We will continue using every
resource available to promote the Food Pantry, increase awareness
of assistance opportunities, and encourage ongoing community
involvement.
Every can, every box, and every volunteer truly makes a difference.
