Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office Update

Action To Be Considered:
Motion to approve, table, or deny the following:
 For information and discussion purposes only. Undersheriff Jeff Ramacher and
Undersheriff Chief of Staff Kyle Mestad will provide information on several areas of
public safety.
Background:
As part of the draft 2025 Strategic Plan, Creating Supportive Networks, an action item for Year 1
is to “schedule regular workshop meetings between the City Council and Ramsey County
Sheriff’s Office.” RCSO is scheduled for two meetings in 2026 as part of this strategic planning
action time. RCSO is also aware that the council is requesting this cadence going forward.
Staff requested the following topics be reviewed:
 General updates
 2025 year in review
 Staffing and budget overview
 Flock camera updates
 Update on metro-area public safety challenges
Strategic Priority:
 Creating Supportive Networks Action Item: Schedule regular workshop meetings
between the City Council and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office
