Flock & ALPR Cameras in Lynchburg, Virginia

On the record · Contract Canceled
Lynchburg is on the record here. Lynchburg City Council voted 6-0 on September 3, 2026 (Vice Mayor Curt Diemer absent) to start ending the city's Flock contract. Council member Chris Faraldi said the resolution empowers the city manager to notice that Flock will no longer be in Lynchburg, at the end of the contract terms. The 2023 contract covers 15 Flock cameras and 54 Flock gunshot detectors. Cameras have been offline since August 19. Council planned a September 8 vote on a take-down date and how to avoid a possible about $35,000 early-termination fee. Faraldi said the latest the technology would be removed is May.
