Flock & ALPR Cameras in Tallahassee, Florida
Volunteers have reported 169 automated license plate readers in and around Tallahassee — cameras that log every passing plate with a time and location.
On the record · Paused
Tallahassee is on the record here. Tallahassee City Commission voted unanimously September 9, 2026 to suspend city use of automated license plate readers, including about 80 Flock cameras and 75 Vigilant cameras (155 total). Tallahassee Reports said City Manager Reese Goad would turn the cameras off so the city and others cannot access them through the system. A motion to cover within 24 hours and remove within 30 days failed 3-2. Two weeks earlier, on August 26, a 3-2 vote had kept Flock. Incomplete exit: suspend/off, not a terminate or physical removal.
