Trustee Bunnell- Flock Cameras Trustee Bunnell explained that automatic license plate readers are coming up a lot in the media and thought it might be a good idea to put some regulations in the ordinances regarding them. The Village does not have them right now but he feels an ordinance now avoid a new Chief coming in and installing them without anyone knowing. Trustee Dawes stated they are pretty expensive. Trustee Bunnell said they are not expensive. Bunnell feels they can be a benefit but the issue is sharing data. He is not asking to have them or not have them, just an ordinance in case they become an issue in the future. Trustee Tyler stated that the Village can allow or disallow them but the county may have say over the state highways. Bunnell doesn’t feel that would be the case. Trustee Brownson felt that Chief Knapp should be present for the discussion. Brownson feels that Chief Knapp knows these cameras and can give the Board some info on them to make their decision. President Schmoock stated she had talked to the Chief and stated the Chief feels they can be a helpful resource but Shiocton may not have the funding. Schmoock stated that if the Board felt more comfortable tabling the discussion until Chief Knapp can be present for the conversation it can be tabled until the October meeting. Clerk Sweeney stated that another option would be to make it a policy that the Chief would need Board approval to install automatic license plate reader rather than creating an ordinance. M/S/P Brownson/Dawes to table the discussion until the October meeting. # 8. Street/Utilities Reports- Director of Public Works Dan Nabbefeld DPW Nabbefeld reported that there was a broken water main on Railroad St. The contractors doing the fiberoptics hit a private water line on HWY 187. There has been confusion on the diggers hotline tickets. They are asking for one side of the road to be marked but digging on the opposite side. Dan had reported previous that the DNR will no longer allow the utility to dump sludge at the sod farm. In order to contest that they would need a certified person to drill holes at the site to test how the water level goes down. In the mean time they will have to bring the sludge to the landfill. The water valve on Railroad St has been repaired. The quote to fix the Hamlin lift station could be $20,000-$50,000. Nick got his CDL and is training on garbage pick-up. There was a resident that came into the Clerk’s office to mention that people were talking about the water quality at a local establishment. Dan presented the Board with the results of the most recent water testing and they were all good. The water is tested every morning and samples sent in to a third party for testing, per DNR and state requirements. There have been no bad results reported. # 9.
