REGULAR MEETING
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
KEARNEY COUNTY, NEBRASKA
September 8, 2026 – 9:30 A.M
A Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Kearney County, NE was held September 8, 2026 at
9:30 a.m. in the Assembly Room of the Courthouse in Minden, NE. Present were Chairman Brent Stewart and
Board Members Jason Sinsel, Nathan Avery, James Miller, Jeff England and Heath Hofstetter. Absent was
Board Member Robert Swanson. Also present were Co Clerk Jenni Lupkes, Joe Anderson Hwy. Supt., Melodie
Bellamy Co Atty, Craig Lupkes Building and Grounds Supervisor, Carrie Favinger Planning & Zoning, and
Cindy Ramsey of the Minden Courier.
Detailed Minutes from the Board of Commissioners Meeting are available for inspection at the County Clerk’s
Office.
The Board of Commissioners took the following action:
-Approved minutes of the Board of Commissioners meeting on August 18, 2026.
-Approved Bills and Claims, July payroll and Hospital Taxes. (See below)
-Held a Public comment from 9:30 to 9:35 a.m.
-Approved the County Clerk and Clerk of the District Court Fee Reports for August 2026.
-Adopted Resolution to strike uncollected personal property tax from 2025 Delinquent Tax List. Reviewed the
Co. Treasurer verification of Sheriff’s Distress Warrants return.
-Reviewed correspondence received from NDOT
-Approved Chairman to sign the Audit Engagement Letter with the Contryman CPA.
-Approved Planning Zoning and Floodplain position be full time with benefits.
-Approved Region 3 Behavioral Health budget request for FY26/27 for $17,724.49
-Met with Markus Ramsey for a Budget Update
-Held a Zoom informational call with Source Well
-Approved salt shed cover replacement from Greystone for $21,000
-Met with Joe Anderson Hwy Supt, approved getting an estimate for 40 Rd patching approaches to bridge

-Met with Co Atny Melodie Bellamy for a Flock Camera presentation.
Adjourned the meeting at 11:14 a.m.
