COUNCIL UPDATES
Chief Herron discusses the one stationary Flock camera deployed. PD is going through accreditation, so all policies
are being reviewed. The General IT policy covers most of the software services. Some technologies having a more
robust policy would be a better thing as some systems may need more robust policies. Tomorrow night is National
Night Out at the pool hosted by PD from 6-8 pm.
Clerk Rich says there is an opening on the Planning Commission and looking for applicants.
Finance Director Wolff reported the draft budget book is on the website right now which is earlier than usual.
City Administrator Pruetting said he had a request for a supplemental budget report for all expenses over $50k.
Councilmember Johnson thanks all who spoke tonight and reminds everyone to vote tomorrow.
Councilmember McNeer thanks PD for showing how community policing is at its best. Said the County Fair was
phenomenal. Would like to look at spending and feels we need to watch budgets fairly close.
Councilmember Wiehn speaks about fireworks comments. Said the school district appreciated the signs and said
they seemed to have had the desired effect. They will continue the efforts for next year. Go vote.
Council Vice-President Deaton asks why the stationary camera rather than just the fleet ALPR. The stationary
cameras are useful for general area of movement. Those on the cars are moving so the general direction is moving.
Asks about audits. Most of the audits are complaint driven. Camera use follows the same policies as criminal justice
systems which require a reason or specific purpose to run a query.
Baldwin asks how many ALPR cameras are in the city. There is one flock camera in this city that the city owns.
There are other non-flock cameras owned by the county. Glad the signs helped with the fireworks this year.
Encourages Andy to keep up the positive attitude and keep coaching.
