@ScottRouse Exposing #FLOCKSAFETY Caught Lying In 4k
The short version: A county meeting clip allegedly shows a Flock Safety sales rep misrepresenting the company's ALPR system to local commissioners.
Our Take
Credit to YouTuber J-DAWG 420 LIFE for pulling this clip and putting it in front of more eyes. If the footage holds up, it's another example of a pattern we keep seeing: Flock Safety's sales reps pitch automated license plate readers to county commissioners and city councils as a modest, narrowly-scoped tool, while the actual contracts, data-sharing agreements, and camera footprints tell a different story. Elected officials are being asked to approve surveillance infrastructure based on a sales pitch, not an independent audit.
This matters because county commission meetings are often the only public check before a Flock network goes live in a community. If a sales rep is willing to shade the truth in a recorded public hearing, that's a signal local officials should be demanding contracts, retention policies, and audit logs in writing — not taking claims at face value. Residents deserve to know exactly what's being installed, who can access the data, and for how long.
Before your own county signs a Flock contract, check our camera map to see what's already been deployed nearby, and visit our take-action page for tools to push back at your next commissioner meeting.
