I Installed Flock Cameras In My House To See What Would Happen #comedy #skit #shorts

Jake Habel Comedy · 2 days ago

The short version: A comedy skit about bugging your own house with Flock cameras pokes fun at a surveillance normalization that's not actually that funny in real life.

Our Take

Credit where it's due: Jake Habel Comedy found a clever angle. Taking Flock Safety's ALPR branding and transplanting it into a domestic sitcom premise — cameras watching your own living room — works as a joke precisely because it's not that far from reality. The punchline lands because we've all absorbed, on some level, that these cameras are already everywhere, watching everyone, all the time.

That's the uncomfortable truth under the laugh track. Flock's pitch to city councils is the same "just a helpful tool" framing the skit parodies, except there's no cut to commercial when it's your real license plate getting logged on a real street corner, stored in a database you never agreed to, shared with agencies you've never heard of. Comedy is often the fastest way to make people notice something they've been numb to, and this short does that in a few seconds flat.

If the bit got a laugh out of you, let it also get a click out of you. Check our camera map to see how many Flock units are already logging traffic near your own front door, then head to take-action for ways to push back before the joke stops being funny.
