A Flock camera can flag the wrong car. The driver it flags has no way to know it happened.

The short version: Flock Clocker spotlights a core flaw: a misread plate can flag an innocent driver, who never learns it happened or gets a chance to push back.

Our Take

Credit to Flock Clocker for zeroing in on a problem that rarely gets airtime: these cameras aren't just watching, they're making judgment calls, and those calls are often wrong. OCR misreads, similar plate patterns, out-of-state confusion — any of it can land a driver on a "hot list" they've never heard of. The officer who pulls you over because a camera flagged your plate isn't guessing. He's acting on a system that told him you're a match, even when you're not.

The part that should bother you most is the silence afterward. There's no notice, no appeal, no record most drivers can ever access. You could be flagged, tailed, or stopped and never know a machine made the call. That's not a minor bug — it's a due process gap built into infrastructure that's spreading into neighborhoods with zero public input.
