Flock Camera Truth
The short version: A streamer called Basidium King takes a crack at explaining what Flock cameras actually do, and the broader point stands: most drivers have no idea these things exist.
Our Take
Credit where it's due: Basidium King is putting Flock Safety in front of an audience that probably never thinks about the camera poles they drive past every day. We haven't seen the full breakdown, but the description is thin on specifics, so we're not going to pretend we know exactly what claims are made here. What we will say is that any content pushing more people to ask "wait, what is that camera and who's watching the footage" is doing useful work, regardless of the platform or the polish.
That's really the whole battle right now. Flock's ALPR network has spread into thousands of neighborhoods and small-town police departments with almost no public debate, largely because most residents never clocked the hardware as anything more than a utility box. Content creators stumbling onto this topic organically, outside of the usual privacy-advocate circles, is a sign the conversation is finally leaking into the mainstream. The more people asking questions, the harder it gets for these systems to operate without scrutiny.
