Axon makes more money than Flock!
The short version: Manifestation Academy's video is right to flag Axon as the bigger surveillance giant, since Flock's ALPR network is just one piece of a much larger, interconnected police-tech empire.
Our Take
Credit to Manifestation Academy for zooming out. We spend a lot of time here tracking Flock's license plate readers because they're the cameras popping up on your street corner, but the video makes a fair point: Flock is a small fish compared to Axon. A company worth roughly five times as much, selling tasers, body cams, drones, and AI-powered 'real-time crime centers' isn't just adjacent to the ALPR problem, it's building the infrastructure that makes mass surveillance normal and profitable at scale.
This matters because the public debate often treats each surveillance tool in isolation, as if a license plate reader here or a body camera there is a standalone policy question. In reality, these companies are racing to stitch their products into unified ecosystems where your plate, your face, your location history, and police response data all live in the same dashboard. When the surveillance industry is worth tens of billions and growing, the incentive isn't restraint, it's expansion.
That's exactly why we built our map, so you can see how far this infrastructure has already spread in your own community, regardless of which vendor's logo is on the pole. And if you want to push back on your city council or police department before the next contract gets signed, our take-action page has the tools to help you do it.
