Your iPhone Has a Secret Privacy Report. Here Is How to Find It. #iPhone #iPhonePrivacyReport

The short version: Mading Thok's tip on iPhone's hidden App Privacy Report is a good reminder that surveillance isn't just outside your window—it's in your pocket too.

Our Take

Credit to Mading Thok for surfacing a feature Apple buries three menus deep. Settings → Privacy & Security → App Privacy Report shows exactly which apps have been quietly pinging your camera, mic, and location — and how often. Most people have no idea this log exists, let alone that it's sitting there waiting to be turned on.

We cover license plate readers because they're surveillance you can't opt out of just by changing a setting — a camera bolted to a pole doesn't ask permission before logging your plate, your location, and your travel patterns. But the instinct this video is trying to build is the same one we want people to bring to ALPRs: stop assuming you're not being watched, and go check. Your phone keeps a receipt. Flock's network keeps one too, just about your car instead of your apps.

If this kind of audit makes your stomach drop, don't stop at your phone. Check our camera map to see what's tracking you on the road, and hit take action for ways to push back on the infrastructure nobody asked permission to install.
