Take Back Control: Download Privacy Badger & Support EFF #shorts

Eliza Orlins · 4 months ago

The short version: Eliza Orlins' short plugs Privacy Badger and EFF membership as easy first steps toward reclaiming digital privacy, a mindset that applies directly to ALPR surveillance too.

Our Take

Eliza Orlins keeps it simple here: install Privacy Badger, back the EFF, and start taking your privacy back from the companies and systems that profit off tracking you. It's a quick, practical nudge, and we're glad to see creators pointing people toward real tools instead of just doom-scrolling about surveillance.

But browser tracking is only half the picture. While Privacy Badger fights cookies and ad trackers online, Flock Safety cameras are doing the same kind of profiling offline — logging your car, your route, your patterns, often without your city council ever holding a public vote on it. The same instinct that makes you block a tracking pixel should make you ask who's reading your license plate on the way to work.

If you're serious about taking back control, don't stop at your browser settings. Check our map to see what's watching your streets, and head to take-action for templates and steps to push back on ALPR deployments in your own town.
