🚨DeSantis: License Plate Cameras Are Out of Control‼️ #fyp #share #desantis #cameras #bigduke13
The short version: Big Duke13's clip of DeSantis slamming license plate camera overreach shows bipartisan unease with ALPR sprawl is finally breaking into the mainstream.
Our Take
Credit to Big Duke13 for putting this short clip in front of a #fyp audience that might never otherwise hear a governor say the quiet part out loud: these camera networks have grown faster than anyone's oversight of them. When a sitting politician starts questioning license plate readers on camera, it's a signal that the "it's just for finding stolen cars" pitch isn't holding up under scrutiny anymore.
We don't care which party says it — the physics of mass surveillance don't change. Every Flock Safety camera logs your plate, your location, and your travel patterns whether a Republican or Democrat is in office, and that data doesn't disappear when the news cycle moves on. Clips like this matter because they chip away at the assumption that ALPR dragnets are uncontroversial infrastructure instead of what they actually are: a permanent record of where you go.
If this video got you curious about what's watching your own street, check our camera map to see documented ALPR locations near you, and head to take-action for concrete steps to push back on unchecked camera expansion in your community.
