Tahoe ALPRr system "The patrol car that never misses a plate." #shorts #lspdfr #india #games #gta5
The short version: A GTA5/LSPDFR mod video dresses up a virtual Tahoe with an ALPR overlay, but its tagline—'never misses a plate'—is lifted straight from real surveillance marketing.
Our Take
Credit where it's due: Torreto Gaming built a fun little police-sim clip, layering a fictional ALPR readout onto a modded Tahoe for GTA5/LSPDFR fans. It's not real footage, not real software, and not a policy statement — just a gamer showing off someone else's car and plate-reader mods, as the description honestly admits.
What's worth pausing on is the slogan baked into the scene: "the patrol car that never misses a plate." That phrase could've come straight out of a Flock Safety sales deck. When marketing language for mass plate surveillance filters down into video games and fan content, it normalizes the idea that constant, automated tracking of every car on the road is just a cool feature of modern policing — not a serious civil liberties trade-off that deserves scrutiny.
Games let you opt out anytime. Real ALPR networks don't. If you want to see how many of these cameras are already logging plates in your own neighborhood, check our camera map, and if you'd rather your town not get the real-life version of "never misses a plate," our take-action page has steps you can take right now.
