This is Axon marketing copy dressed up as a case study, and it shows. The pitch is simple: drones airborne in under 90 seconds, feeds from Axon Fusus flowing into a Real-Time Intelligence Center, all wrapped in the language of 'interoperability' and 'faster decisions.' What the video doesn't spend much time on is what that actually means on the ground — a centralized hub that can pull in ALPR cameras, private security feeds, and now live drone video, all searchable in one place, with little said about retention limits, audit trails, or who outside the department can access it.

That's the pattern with Fusus and DFR programs generally: they're built and sold by the same company, marketed through glossy customer testimonials rather than independent evaluation, and rolled out city by city with minimal public debate before launch. Oklahoma City residents didn't get a say in whether they wanted a always-on aerial and camera-fusion system before OKCPD signed the contract — they got a finished product and a promo reel.
