Men ruin everything. #breakingnews #flock #cameras #domesticviolence

The short version: A quick, pointed clip from PullupsPastaPolitics taps into real fears that ALPR data meant to fight crime can just as easily be weaponized for stalking and domestic abuse.

Our Take

Credit to PullupsPastaPolitics for compressing a real anxiety into a punchy, shareable clip. The joke lands because it's not really a joke: license plate reader networks like Flock Safety's are sold as tools to catch violent offenders, but the same database that can flag a stolen car can also be queried by someone with a badge, a grudge, and a reason that sounds official enough on paper. Domestic violence advocates have warned for years that location data is a stalking vector, and mass ALPR networks hand that capability to anyone with system access — no warrant required in most jurisdictions.

This is the uncomfortable truth lurking under Flock's marketing: audit logs and 'justification' fields are only as good as the humans enforcing them, and enforcement is usually internal, opaque, and after the fact. A victim doesn't get a say in whether the system is being misused, and abuse of access rarely shows up in a press release. The video's humor is doing the work that a thousand policy white papers haven't — making people feel, in two seconds, why 'it's just for solving crimes' doesn't hold up.
