But as this video lays out, several of those same towns turned around and signed with Axon instead — swapping one mass-surveillance vendor for another that makes its cameras even easier to hide, bolted right onto existing streetlights. The optics change. The dragnet doesn't.
This is the shell game we keep warning about: outrage over ALPR overreach gets treated as a brand problem to solve rather than a policy problem to fix.
