The police defense we keep hearing in these hearings follows a script: it solves crimes, it's just public roads, nothing to worry about if you've done nothing wrong. What that framing conveniently leaves out is the sheer scale of data collection, the lack of independent audits on who's querying the system and why, and the fact that a network built to catch a handful of stolen cars ends up creating a permanent movement record on every driver, including the thousands who will never be suspected of anything.
