The short version: The Golden Ratio's quick hit on DeFlock spotlights how ordinary drivers are starting to notice — and question — the cameras tracking their every move.

Our Take

We don't know much about this one going in — The Golden Ratio's video simply flags DeFlock and leaves it at that — but that's often how awareness starts. Someone sees a camera on a pole, hears the word "Flock," looks it up, and suddenly realizes their daily commute is being logged, plate by plate, and stored for who-knows-how-long by a private company with law enforcement access.

That's the whole point of projects like ours: making the invisible visible. Most people have no idea how dense ALPR coverage has become in their own neighborhood until they actually look at a map of it. We credit The Golden Ratio for putting a spotlight on this, even briefly — every video that gets people asking "wait, what is Flock Safety?" is doing real work in a fight that's still mostly happening in the shadows.

If this video sent you down a rabbit hole, keep going. Check our camera map to see what's logging plates near you, and head to take action if you want to push back on it.
