Living In a Surveillance Society!
The short version: A citizen-eye video from Godspreparedwarrior spotlights how Flock ALPR cameras have quietly spread into daily life, and that ordinary vigilance matters.
Our Take
Godspreparedwarrior's video captures something a lot of us have felt but rarely say out loud: you can't drive through town anymore without passing at least one Flock Safety camera bolted to a pole, scanning every plate that rolls by. The video doesn't need special effects to make its point — just a dashcam view of how normalized this infrastructure has become, tucked into intersections and neighborhood entrances where most people never think to look.
That's exactly the problem. These systems are rolled out quietly, usually without a public vote, and they build a rolling database of everywhere you drive, timestamped and searchable by police departments and, increasingly, private companies. One camera is a tool. Thousands of networked cameras feeding a shared national database is a tracking system — and most residents have no idea their own city council approved it.
