When a city starts reviewing "policies and vendors" right after neighboring Grass Valley suspends cameras over resident complaints, and after reports of cameras getting damaged across the region, that's not coincidence — that's a pattern of communities waking up to gear they never really debated in the first place.

Notice the language too: "no final decisions have been made." That's the standard holding pattern departments use while they wait to see if public pressure fades. It usually doesn't fade on its own — it fades when nobody shows up to council meetings and asks hard questions about retention windows, data sharing, and who else gets to query the plate reads. Folsom residents now have a real window to force transparency before the contract quietly renews itself.

The vandalism angle ABC10 mentions is a symptom, not the disease.
