Get the Flock outta hea! #deflock #flock #fyp #safety
The short version: A quick, meme-flavored clip from FartGuys pokes fun at Flock Safety cameras, showing how anti-ALPR sentiment is seeping into mainstream, comedic corners of the internet.
Our Take
Credit where it's due: FartGuys isn't a policy shop or a civil liberties nonprofit — it's a comedy channel, and this clip is a quick, meme-coded jab rather than an investigative piece. But that's exactly why it matters. When pushback against automated license plate readers starts showing up in #fyp humor instead of just op-eds and city council meetings, it's a sign the conversation about Flock Safety cameras has broken out of wonk circles and into everyday culture.
We don't know the specifics of what's being said in the video, and we're not going to pretend we do. But the instinct behind it — frustration at a camera network quietly logging where you drive, whether or not you've done anything wrong — is the same instinct driving lawsuits, city audits, and community pushback all over the country. Comedy is often how people process unease before they organize around it.
If this clip made you wonder how many of these cameras are actually near you, check our camera map to see what's been documented in your area, and visit take action for concrete steps if you'd rather do something more than laugh about it.
