David Crowley Wants Flock Cameras in YOUR Neighborhood

Our America · 1 day ago

The short version: Our America spotlights how Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley is championing Flock ALPR expansion, and we think residents deserve a real say before more cameras go up.

Our Take

Credit to the Our America channel for putting a name and a face on the push to blanket more neighborhoods with Flock Safety cameras. It's easy to talk about ALPR sprawl in the abstract, but this video does the useful work of showing that specific elected officials — in this case Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley — are the ones greenlighting these systems, often with little public debate about what happens to the data or who gets access to it.

This is exactly the pattern we track at DeFlock: a local official frames Flock cameras as a simple public-safety upgrade, and suddenly there's a license-plate dragnet logging the movements of every driver, including the overwhelming majority who've done nothing wrong. No camera in your neighborhood is 'just for catching bad guys' once the data exists — it exists for anyone with access, now or later, for whatever purpose comes next.

If you live in Milwaukee County or anywhere else these cameras are spreading, don't wait for a video to tell you it's already happened near you. Check our map to see what's been deployed in your area, and use our take-action resources to push back before city council approves the next contract.
