Deflock America! #deflock

Our Take

Manchanix keeps it short and sharp with "Deflock America!" — more rallying cry than deep-dive, but sometimes a banner is exactly what a movement needs. We don't know the full script, so we won't pretend to summarize beats that weren't given to us. What we can say is that the hashtag itself is doing real work: it's turning a niche policy fight over automated license plate readers into something people can actually say out loud and share.

That matters because Flock Safety's camera network has expanded into thousands of towns with almost no public debate, often approved by a single city council vote and a sales pitch about "solving crime." Content like this, even in bite-sized form, helps normalize the idea that neighbors get to ask questions before a surveillance dragnet goes up on their street corner.
