Flock cámaras

Latinlesbean™ Oficial · 5 months ago

The short version: A creator known as Latinlesbean™ Oficial spotlights Flock cameras popping up locally, a reminder that ALPR creep reaches every community, English or Spanish speaking.

Our Take

We don't have much to go on here beyond a title and a creator noticing Flock cameras in the wild, but that's kind of the point: these systems are showing up in so many neighborhoods that regular people are grabbing their phones and saying "wait, what is this thing on the pole?" Credit to Latinlesbean™ Oficial for putting a spotlight on it, especially for an audience that English-language surveillance reporting often misses entirely.

That gap matters. Flock Safety doesn't check whether a block is majority Spanish-speaking before bolting a camera to a sign post, and the company's own transparency portals and press materials are almost always English-only. If bilingual creators are the ones translating "there's a camera reading your plate every time you drive to work" into terms their communities actually understand, that's grassroots accountability doing work that city councils and police PR departments won't.

Wherever you live, you can check whether your street already has one of these on our camera map, and if you want to push back on a local deployment, our take-action page has concrete steps, no matter what language you do that organizing in.
