We don't know the exact flashpoint that shut the meeting down, but the pattern is familiar: officials show up with a pitch about "public safety," residents show up with questions about retention windows, data sharing, and who actually gets to see the footage, and the meeting runs out of road before those questions get real answers.
That gap between what's promised at the podium and what's written into the contract is exactly why these cameras keep sparking fights in city halls across the country. Flock's own audit logs have shown officers running plates for reasons that have nothing to do with the case at hand, and departments have quietly shared data with agencies outside their state.
