The creator behind this one, DeFlock America, is hitting on something we've been saying since day one: nobody put Flock Safety cameras on a ballot. City councils quietly signed contracts, police departments quietly flipped the switch, and now there are millions of plate scans happening every day with no federal rulebook governing who can access that data, how long it's kept, or who's accountable when it's abused. That's not a technicality — that's the whole ballgame.

The video's point about consent cuts deep because it's true. Most residents found out their town had ALPR coverage after the fact, if they found out at all. Local pushes for oversight have worked in some places, but a patchwork of city ordinances means a camera network that ignores state lines and jurisdiction can still ignore your rights. Federal-level guardrails — real ones, not toothless guidance — are the only way to stop a system built for tracking cars from quietly becoming a system for tracking people.
