This one comes straight from mcpdmedia, which is Montgomery County PD's own production shop, not an outside journalist asking hard questions. That matters: 'Drone Zone Part 3' is a highlight reel built to make Drone as First Responder (DFR) look like an unambiguous public good, cutting from arrests to vehicle fires without ever showing what the drones capture when nothing newsworthy happens, or where that footage goes afterward.

DFR programs sound reasonable in isolation, get eyes in the air faster than a patrol car, but they're rarely deployed with real limits on flight paths, retention windows, or public reporting. A department producing its own hype video is not the same as a department publishing its drone logs, its data-sharing agreements, or its false-positive rate. The gap between the two is exactly where mission creep lives, and it's the same gap we track on the ground with license plate readers.
