Whether or not "De-Flock America Night" turns into an organized real-world event, the fact that it's even trending says something important: people are fed up with unaccountable license plate readers quietly logging their movements block by block. Credit to Devin for surfacing the chatter — grassroots frustration like this doesn't come out of nowhere, it comes from years of Flock cameras popping up in neighborhoods with zero public vote and zero meaningful oversight.
We want to be clear: DeFlock USA doesn't encourage vandalism or property destruction, and we're not going to pretend that tampering with hardware is a substitute for real policy change. Cameras get replaced; ordinances and public records requests actually stick. If people are this motivated, that energy is far better spent showing up to city council meetings, filing records requests on ALPR data-sharing agreements, and demanding audits — not risking criminal charges over a plastic camera housing.
