Why you should switch your browser today #privacy #tech #shorts
The short version: Mading Thok's browser-privacy rundown is solid first-aid for online tracking, but a locked-down browser does nothing to stop the license plate readers logging your car in the physical world.
Our Take
Mading Thok's quick comparison of Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox, Brave, and DuckDuckGo is a useful cheat sheet, and we're glad to see more creators pushing people past default settings that hand your browsing history to ad networks. Third-party cookie blocking and tracking prevention are easy wins anyone can make in five minutes.
But here's the catch worth saying out loud: none of that touches the surveillance that happens the moment you walk out your front door and get in your car. Flock Safety cameras don't care what browser you use. They photograph your plate, your car, sometimes your face through the windshield, and timestamp your location, building a travel history that gets shared across agencies and sometimes sold or leaked. Locking down your phone is step one. Knowing where the cameras are on your actual streets is step two.
So treat this video as good hygiene, not the whole fight. Check our camera map to see what's watching your neighborhood, and head to our take-action page if you want to push back on ALPR expansion where you live.
