FLOCK SONG PARODY π #shorts #comedy #comedypodcast #funny #flock #flocksafety
The short version: A comedy short turns Flock Safety's camera network into a punchline, proving ALPR surveillance has gone mainstream enough to mock.
Our Take
Credit where it's due: Sean's Show took a dry topic β automated license plate readers quietly multiplying on street corners β and turned it into a sketch catchy enough to get stuck in your head. That's not nothing. Satire does work that press releases and policy memos can't; it gets people who've never heard the word "Flock" to ask what the joke's actually about.
But the laugh track shouldn't cover up the real punchline: these cameras are logging the movements of ordinary drivers, in thousands of towns, often with little public debate before install. A parody song can make Flock Safety feel like a quirky meme, but the underlying system is a serious, growing database of where you drive, when, and how often β accessible to police departments and sometimes shared well beyond the town that paid for it.
If the song made you chuckle and also made you wonder how many of these units are near your own house, that curiosity is the point. Check our map to see what's already watching your block, and if you want to push back on a deployment near you, our take-action page has the tools to start.
