Watch as flock camera gets taken down in Florida! Shared from James Madison Audits First Amendment
The short version: A Florida Flock camera comes down on camera, credit to James Madison Audits via RickieBobbieNO26, and it's a reminder these poles aren't untouchable.
Our Take
Footage making the rounds, originally captured by James Madison Audits and reposted by RickieBobbieNO26, shows a Flock Safety ALPR camera getting pulled down in Florida. We weren't there and can't vouch for every detail of the circumstances, but the clip taps into something real: a lot of people are fed up with finding these surveillance poles bolted up in their neighborhoods, parking lots, and roadsides without ever being asked.
Whatever you think about the method, the sentiment behind it isn't fringe. Flock's network has quietly become one of the largest license-plate tracking systems in the country, feeding location data to police departments and, in some documented cases, far beyond the original stated purpose. Most residents never voted on it, never saw a public hearing, and often don't even know a camera has gone up until they spot the pole themselves. That gap between how fast this infrastructure spreads and how little public input it gets is exactly why frustration boils over.
We'd rather see that energy channeled into something that sticks: find out if Flock is already in your town using our camera map, then push your city council for transparency, audits, or outright removal through our take-action resources. Taking down a pole might make a satisfying video, but a flooded council meeting is what actually gets policies changed.
