Our Take
Zona Roama's video points at something we've been saying for a while: most people have no idea how often their plate gets scanned, timestamped, and stored by a private surveillance company. A tool that lets you peek into that black box, even partially, is a step toward the transparency Flock and its police partners rarely volunteer on their own.
But treat any third-party lookup tool with the same skepticism you'd apply to Flock itself. Who's hosting it, what happens to the plate you type in, and how complete is the data it's pulling from? A single query only tells you about one moment in a system that runs 24/7 across thousands of intersections, gas stations, and neighborhood entrances nationwide. Knowing you've been "Flocked" once doesn't tell you the scale of the dragnet you're living inside.
