The short version: A creator using the #deflock tag frames license plate reader resistance as part of a broader anti-surveillance, anonymous-style movement — the hashtags matter more than specifics here.

Our Take

We don't have much to go on with this one — the title is basically a stack of hashtags (#nullsec, #anonymous, #freethepeople, #revolution, #deflock) and no real description from the channel "2face." But that in itself says something. The DeFlock tag is increasingly showing up in spaces that have nothing to do with policy wonks or city council meetings, and everything to do with people who see ALPR networks as one more piece of a surveillance state they're fed up with.

We'd rather stay grounded in verifiable facts than ride a wave of revolutionary branding, so we're not going to pretend we know what's inside this video beyond its title. What we will say: the anger is not irrational. Flock Safety cameras and similar ALPR systems are quietly logging where you drive, when, and how often, feeding that into databases shared across agencies and sometimes private companies, with little public oversight. Whether you come at that from a civil-liberties angle or a more anti-establishment one, the underlying facts are the same — and they're why this fight keeps attracting new and different voices.

If you want receipts instead of hashtags, check our camera map to see what's actually been deployed near you, and visit take action for concrete, legal ways to push back.
