America's Flock camera map is here. Now live and free on iOS and Android.
The short version: A creator called Flock Clocker launched a free mobile app mapping Flock ALPR cameras nationwide — more eyes on the surveillance grid is good news.
Our Take
More mapping projects tracking Flock Safety's automated license plate readers is exactly the kind of grassroots accountability this fight needs. Flock Clocker's new app, free on iOS and Android, puts camera location data directly in people's pockets, lowering the barrier for ordinary drivers to find out when and where they're being photographed and logged by a private company's nationwide network. Credit to the creator for building a tool and giving it away rather than locking it behind a paywall or an ad wall.
Every independent effort like this matters because Flock and local police departments rarely volunteer complete, accurate maps of their own deployments. Communities are often the last to know how dense this coverage has gotten in their own neighborhoods, school pickup lines, and church parking lots. Crowdsourced and creator-driven maps force a little sunlight onto a system designed to operate quietly in the background of everyday life.
We keep our own national database for exactly this reason — check our camera map to see what's near you, and if you want to push back on a system being installed without real public debate, our take-action page has concrete next steps.
