Arkansas has seen multiple contract cancellations, Mississippi now has public plate-search audit

The short version: flockblocked's roundup shows cracks forming across the South: Arkansas towns are canceling Flock contracts while Mississippi rolls out public plate-search audit tools.

Our Take

Credit to the channel flockblocked for tracking the state-by-state churn that rarely makes national headlines. Contract cancellations in Arkansas are a reminder that these deals aren't permanent fixtures — they're line items that city councils can and do walk back once residents start asking who's actually looking at their movements and why.

Mississippi's move toward a public plate-search audit tool is the kind of transparency measure we wish were the default everywhere, not the exception. Audit logs don't stop a camera from recording your plate, but they at least create a paper trail when an officer runs a search for personal reasons, political targeting, or anything outside a legitimate investigation. Louisiana, by contrast, keeps expanding deployments with far less public accounting — a split-screen that shows how much local pressure actually matters.

None of this progress happens by accident. It happens when residents find out a camera went up down the street and start showing up to meetings. Check the map to see what's already been installed near you, and use our take-action guide if you want to push your own city toward cancellation or, at minimum, real audit transparency.
