The short version: A Christian podcast frames Flock and Axon's surveillance buildout through an end-times lens, and the prophecy angle aside, the hardware concerns are real.
Our Take
The Ascension Hour Podcast is approaching ALPR sprawl from a biblical prophecy angle, reading Flock Safety's camera network and Axon's expanding product line as signs of a coming surveillance state. We're not a theology outlet and can't speak to the end-times framing, but we'll credit the creator for dragging Flock and Axon out of the trade press and into a conversation their listeners might not otherwise encounter.
Strip away the religious framing and the underlying facts are the same ones we hammer on every week: thousands of networked cameras logging your plate, your location, and your movement patterns, run by a private company with law enforcement contracts and little public oversight. You don't need to believe in end times to be unsettled by a system that quietly builds a timestamped travel history on every driver, searchable by agencies with no warrant requirement in most states.
Whatever lens gets people paying attention to this infrastructure is a lens worth having. If this video has you wondering what's actually watching your street, check our camera map to see what's nearby, and visit our take-action page for ways to push back at the local level.
