Flock Cameras Part 1

Bradley69g · 3 weeks ago

The short version: A creator called Bradley69g kicks off a video series documenting Flock Safety ALPR cameras, adding another independent voice to public scrutiny of the network.

Our Take

We don't have much to go on here beyond a title and a creator's handle, but that's sort of the point: Bradley69g is apparently starting a multi-part series on Flock cameras, and the mere fact that everyday people are picking up a camera to document this stuff is a sign of how far the conversation has traveled in just a couple of years. Flock went from a quiet vendor pitching city councils behind closed doors to a subject regular folks are filming on their own time.

We'll withhold judgment on specifics until Part 1 actually lands and we can see what Bradley69g is pointing a lens at — whether it's a neighborhood installation, a council meeting, or just a plain-English explainer. What matters is that more documentation means more data points for the public record, and every citizen-shot video chips away at the idea that these camera networks operate best in the dark.

If this series has you wondering how many of these cameras are already watching your own commute, check our camera map and see what's been logged in your area. And if you want to do more than watch, our take-action page has steps for pushing back at the local level.
