Our Take
Credit to Zac Lucarz for actually testing one of these anti-camera sprays on video instead of just hyping it in a product description. We haven't independently verified the manufacturer's claims, and neither should you — the ALPR evasion market is full of gadgets that promise to blind Flock Safety cameras and mostly promise more than they deliver. Even if a spray or coating works in a controlled test, it's a different story on a real pole-mounted Flock camera shooting from an angle in variable light and weather.
There's also a legal wrinkle people forget: in a lot of states, deliberately obscuring your plate — chemically, physically, or otherwise — is itself a ticketable offense, sometimes a bigger headache than just getting your plate read. So a spray can turn into a self-inflicted stop, which is the opposite of what anyone wants.
The deeper issue isn't whether one product can beat one camera. It's that thousands of these cameras are quietly logging everyone's movements, spray or no spray.
