The Invisible Text Threat You Need to Know #AIPrivacy #CyberSafety101

The short version: Mading Thok's video on AI browser agents falling for invisible prompt-injection attacks is a reminder that automating trust is dangerous — whether it's your inbox or your license plate.

Our Take

Credit to Mading Thok for laying out a problem that's bigger than it sounds: AI agents built to act on your behalf can be steered by text you'll never see, because they don't read a webpage the way you do. That's not a bug you patch once and forget — it's a structural trust problem, and the companies selling these tools are admitting as much. 49% down to 1% is progress, sure, but 1% of attempts succeeding against your bank login or your two-factor codes is still a live wire.

We cover ALPR networks, not browser agents, but the pattern is identical. A system gets deployed with the promise that it's smart, careful, and only acting in your interest, and the public is asked to trust the black box because the vendor says so. Flock Safety makes the same pitch about plate readers feeding data to police departments and private subscribers: trust the guardrails, trust the audit logs, trust that nobody's going to misuse a tool that was built to never stop watching. History keeps showing that the trust is premature, whether it's an AI pulling your banking codes from a hidden string of white text or a camera network quietly expanding its reach past what anyone voted for.

The lesson is the same in both cases: don't wait for the postmortem to ask what a system can actually do with the access it's been given. If you want to see what that looks like in your own town, check our camera map and then head to take-action to push back before the infrastructure becomes permanent.
