Chicken Predator Proofing: How We Keep Our Backyard Flock Safe | Raise Your Own Chickens
The short version: This one's about keeping actual chickens safe from foxes, not Americans safe from Flock Safety cameras — wrong flock, but credit to Raise Your Own Chickens for solid backyard advice.
Our Take
We have to be straight with you: this video, from the channel Raise Your Own Chickens, is about predator-proofing a backyard chicken coop — hawks, raccoons, the usual suspects. It has nothing to do with automated license plate readers, Flock Safety, or the surveillance dragnet we normally cover. We're not going to pretend otherwise or stretch a connection that isn't there.
That said, we'll admit the name overlap gave us a chuckle. The company whose cameras we track calls its network a "flock," and here's a video about protecting an actual flock from being watched and picked off by something more powerful than it. There's an irony in that worth sitting with, even if it's coincidental.
If you came here looking for our usual beat, we haven't forgotten it. Check our camera map to see what's actually watching your street, and if you want to push back on unchecked ALPR deployment in your town, our take-action page is the real henhouse to defend.
