When a sitting president publicly cheers on a private surveillance vendor, that's news worth pausing on. The Victory Channel's clip has Trump expressing support for Flock cameras, and regardless of the political framing, the underlying reality doesn't change: these are corporate-owned camera networks logging the movements of ordinary drivers, often with little local debate and even less oversight.
Political endorsements like this tend to supercharge a company's sales pitch to city councils and police chiefs who don't want to look 'soft on crime.' But popularity with politicians isn't the same as proof the technology is accountable, accurate, or worth the privacy tradeoff. Flock's own numbers on false positives, data sharing, and mission creep raise plenty of questions that a soundbite of support doesn't answer.
