It's not an ALPR camera and it's not sold to your local PD today — but the pattern is familiar. Sensor packages, AI targeting, and 'low detectability' airframes designed for defense contracts rarely stay confined to the battlefield. They get scaled down, rebranded, and pitched to police departments a few product cycles later.
That matters because we're already watching companies like Flock Safety expand from fixed license-plate cameras into 'drone as first responder' programs. A stationary camera on a pole is at least visible and, in theory, mappable. A fast, quiet drone flying overhead is neither.
