When a channel that normally covers Trump-era corruption pivots to license plate readers, it's a sign this story has escaped the privacy-wonk bubble and is landing with regular folks who are realizing their driveway camera is quietly feeding a nationwide database.
The video's instinct to link Flock to ICE is the right one. These cameras were sold to city councils as a tool for finding stolen cars and Amber Alerts, but the data doesn't stay local — it gets queried by agencies with very different missions, often without a warrant or even local knowledge that it's happening. That mission creep is the whole ballgame, and it's why this isn't a left or right issue. Nobody signed up to have their movements logged for federal immigration sweeps.
