No sirens, no dramatic music needed; the pitch is efficiency, and that's exactly what should give you pause.

Flock Safety gets most of the headlines in ALPR coverage because of its subscription model and law enforcement partnerships, but BriefCam is a good reminder that the underlying technology — turning footage into searchable, trackable data — is an entire market segment. Police departments, malls, HOAs, and private security firms are all shopping for the same capability: instant retroactive tracking of anyone's movements by plate number. The tool doesn't care whether the search is tied to a warrant or just curiosity.
